She’s turning FIVE!

And just like that, she’s 15, I mean FIVE. But my goodness, it might as well be 15. My baby is all grown up! It breaks my heart, and makes me so proud all at the same time. Mama’s, what is it about FIVE?! It’s such a milestone year. She talked about a “flower party”…

His 7th Birthday

Birthdays come with much anticipation around here.  We had lots of little things planned throughout our day, but that kinda got squashed by the big snow storm (a hazard of having your birthday in the middle of February in Minnesota), so we had to improvise. I let this guy open a birthday present every time…

It’s a Frozen Party

Since her birthday fell in the middle of the week, we had a little party for her on the weekend, when grandparents and other family could come.  Shouldn’t birthdays always be on the weekend?  It would be so much easier to celebrate appropriately!  Anyway… in the spirit of our Frozen theme, we planned an outdoor…

Our Little Princess is Three?!

The day has come.  I no longer have a baby or even a toddler.  She’s three!!!!  How did that happen?  Well, I know how it happened, but really.  Like we’ve heard from those ‘seasoned’ mothers, it does happen so quickly.  It’s breaks my heart, and makes it soar with freedom all at the same…

Queen for a Day

Last year, my dear friend sent me a birthday card with a fancy ribbon/pin attached to it that read, “Queen for a Day.”  I forgot to actually wear it that day, so I couldn’t just throw it away.  I saved it, of course, for this year.  And boy, did it work.  I wore it…

FOLLOW ME

I want to be a home-maker.  But honestly, I have too many interests, and way too little time.  My mental to-list is always full.  I have projects lined up from before my oldest son was born... He's 11!  I often feel disappointed in myself for not "getting anything done," and then God taps me on the shoulder and shows me that my perspective is so small.  What is my priority?  By His grace, I am reminded of the big picture, my home, my children, and that I am to, "teach them diligently when we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up."  Deuteronomy 6:4-9  Regardless of what's on my to-do list, I am choosing to place my little ones near the top.  I believe, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 1:4  So here I share with you what I'm learning about keeping the home, hoping together we can be accountable, day by day, choosing joy, with the focus that, "Whatever ye do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord." Colossians 3:17

Here we go!  One day at a time.

Focus.

It's all about perspective.
