The Will of God Poem

The will of God will never take you, Where the grace of God cannot keep you. Where the arms of God cannot support you, Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, Where the power of God cannot endow you. The will of God will never take you, Where the spirit of God cannot…

Why I Became a Homeschool Mom

Thinking about becoming a homeschool mom?  I can’t speak for all, but I want to share with you why I became a homeschool mom.  Whether you are or are not homeschooling, the question is often asked, “why.”  Why did you choose to homeschool your children?  Being a homeschool mom is something I NEVER saw myself doing….

Changing Perspective

I don’t know about you, but this month is just hard.  It’s the middle of winter, there’s not a lot of sunshine here in the midwest, and schooling has kind of tired us all out.  You know what I mean?  We need some refreshment.  Something that switches our focus from our struggles, our everyday tasks,…

Ice Mining

We are having quite a mild winter here in beautiful Minnesnowta.  Not a whole lot of snow, 50 degree temperature fluctuations every couple of days, rain, snow, and everything in between.  Well, I’m not here to talk about the weather.  I just wanted to share some sweet photos with you of some pretty creative kids…

He’s Working in the Waiting

It’s been cold here in Minnesota for a couple weeks now, but still no snow.  We knows it’s coming.  We’re all waiting for it.  Waiting.  It seems we’re each in a season of waiting, one way or another.  The children, waiting to play in the fresh fallen snow.  Families, waiting for Christmas and all the…

B L O G

My goal is to be a home-maker.  But honestly, I have too many interests, and way too little time.  My mental to-list is always full.  I have projects lined up from before my oldest son was born... He's 11!  I often feel disappointed in myself for not "getting anything done," and then God taps me on the shoulder and shows me that my perspective is so small.  What is my priority?  By His grace, I am reminded of the big picture.  My priorities are my husband, my home, my children.  Ohh, the children.  I want to, "teach them diligently when we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up."  Deuteronomy 6:4-9  Regardless of what's on my to-do list, I am choosing joy in the everyday mundane.  I believe, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 1:4  So here I share with you what I'm learning about keeping the home while raising little ones, hoping together we can be accountable, day by day, choosing joy, with the right focus.  "Whatever ye do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord." Colossians 3:17

Here we go!  One day at a time.

Focus.

It's all about perspective.
