The Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium, in Litchfield Park, Arizona has to be my favorite zoo of all time.  It is wonderful!  Now, I live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, so that means, we traveled a looooong way to get here. ;)  Well, honestly, we were making AZ one of our stops along the…

This post is Part 3 of “The Best Road Trip Ever,” according to my kiddos.  If you’re just joining me, you’re jumping into the middle of the story, and that’s totally okay!  I’m a little rebellious that way too;)  But if you want the whole story, you can find Part 1 and Part 2 here. …

Today I’m sharing a bit of our experience at one of Colorado’s National Parks, the Great Sand Dunes.  This is part two of “The Best Road Trip Ever,” as expressed by my kiddos.   If you missed part 1, you can find it here.  It’s just a little intro to our trip, and where I…

In my last post, I wrote about changing perspective, and how looking at your life differently, or using a different lens helps in seeing your circumstances in a whole new way. But I also suggested that a change of scenery might do the trick as well. [wink, wink]  Yup, after two years of ‘strongly suggesting’…

We’re off to a great start!  We’re getting into a nice groove at home, getting our schooling done a little in the morning and a little in the afternoon.  Taking field trips when great opportunities pop up.  Ones like this!   The Minnesota Zoo had a homeschool day, so of course we had to be…

I want to be a home-maker.  But honestly, I have too many interests, and way too little time.  My mental to-list is always full.  I have projects lined up from before my oldest son was born... He's 11!  I often feel disappointed in myself for not "getting anything done," and then God taps me on the shoulder and shows me that my perspective is so small.  What is my priority?  By His grace, I am reminded of the big picture, my home, my children, and that I am to, "teach them diligently when we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down, and when we rise up."  Deuteronomy 6:4-9  Regardless of what's on my to-do list, I am choosing to place my little ones near the top.  I believe, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 1:4  So here I share with you what I'm learning about keeping the home, hoping together we can be accountable, day by day, choosing joy, with the focus that, "Whatever ye do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord." Colossians 3:17

Here we go!  One day at a time.

Focus.

It's all about perspective.
